Hotel 7132, Vals

If you’re looking to experience one of Switzerland’s most famous thermal baths, don’t look any further than Hotel 7132 set in the secluded yet romantic alpine village of Vals.

The hotel itself offers an inimitable contrast between the authentic setting in which it is located, with a tastefully-executed contemporary design that exudes peace and tranquility. The spa itself was designed by Peter Zumthor back in 1996 for guests to indulge and rediscover the ancient benefits of bathing. It consists of no less than 6 different pools and 60’000 slabs of Vals quarzite, which together create a relaxing yet mystical atmosphere. Go see for yourself…

Park Hotel Vitznau, Vitznau

Park Hotel Vitznau, Lake Luzern

Rejuvenation at this gem starts the moment you step through the door, with the white-based interior design and the breath-taking views over the fjord-shaped Lake Luzern and the surrounding alps. You can’t help but feel miles away from all your problems.

While the rooms ooze with comfort and exclusivity (especially those with a lake view which we highly recommend!), you will instantly fall in love with their perfectly-appointed spa and the dreamy outdoor pool area with direct access to the lake. We spent two days here, and felt like we had escaped to a crowd-free corner of the Mediterranean as we were admiring the views with our feet in the water and a glass of champagne in hand. The cherry on the cake? Spoil yourself with a body treatment executed with the world-famous La Prairie products…

The Bellevue Gstaad, Gstaad

Once upon a time, in the dreamy Swiss Alps, there was a magical hotel with a 3’000sqm spa…

Yes, you heard correctly! Welcome to the stylish Bellevue Hotel, a fantastic boutique hotel set apart by its original yet tasteful interior design, warm service and its prime location in the glamorous village of Gstaad.

Just holidaying in the fresh air of the alps ups your rejuvenation game by 10. But for spa aficionados like us, we really appreciated all the different types of saunas and hammams that were available to us… you rarely come across this many options in one place. Likewise, we loved the outdoor hot pool, where we probably spent hours just enjoying the fresh air and feeling our worries disappear with the steam. Yogis will also appreciate the hotel’s yoga and detox retreats… Is there really a better way to make up for lost travel time?

Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina

The Engadine is the perfect destination to replenish on fresh air and energy, with its unspoiled great outdoors, majestic mountains, and myriad of activities for all interests. In addition, it has successfully steered away from the tour bus industry, so you’ll enjoy the luxury of having fewer crowds.

In this alpine paradise, you’ll find a wonderful gem of a hotel: the historic Grand Hotel Kronenhof, situated just a few minutes away from world-famous St Moritz. It boasts wonderful service, a prime location in the cute little hamlet of Pontresina and more than 2’000sqm of wellness facilities to keep you busy for days. We could have stayed in their pool for hours admiring the Roseg Glacier in front of us, but it’s worth it to come out just to try one of their exceptional massages… Recharging your batteries has rarely felt this good!

The Riffelalp Hotel, Zermatt

Riffelalp Hotel Zermatt

There are a few reasons why we love this one. Firstly, as the hotel is set at 2’222m in altitude, amidst Zermatt’s world-famous slopes, you can only reach it by cogwheel train from Zermatt village. And that means that external guests rarely (if ever) come to the spa, which is always a big plus!

Secondly, there is an impressive number of facilities, from hammams to saunas, without bypassing an outdoor and indoor swimming pool and more! Our favorite part is cooling off directly in the snow after a sauna with the skiers zooming down in front of you.

Last but not least, we challenge you to find a better place to relax than in a heated outdoor pool, overlooking the sun set over the majestic Matterhorn, Switzerland’s most photographed mountain.
